In Czech republic you can visit air museums focused mainly on Czech aviation. The most significant museums are in Vyškov, Kunovice and Prague-Kbely. The nearest foreign museum is Hangar 7 close the Salzburg. Our western neighbour has one of the most famous double blocks in the world – technical museums in Sinsheim and Speyer. Of course, we can’t forget Mekka of aviation fans, English Duxford and its Imeprial War Museum.

Museum in Kbely dispose of collection with 275 aircraft and is one of the biggest in Europe. Museum describes Czechoslovak aviation using aircraft display, engines, armament, equipment, uniforms, flags and different medals. We can find there also some foreign machines. For example Spad VII or Messerschmitt Me 262B. Museum in Vyškov is focused on military aircraft from soviet production, which served in Czech Air Force. We can find there MiG-15, -19, -21 and -23 in various versions or helicopters Mil Mi-1, -2, -4 and -8. Kunovice museum is devoted to Czech production. So we can see L-29 Delfin (Dolphin), L-200 Morava, Z-37 Čmelák (Bumblebee), L-410 Turbolet and prototype XL-610.
There is Red Bull Hangar 7 near the Salzburg. All aircraft are labeled with Red Bull logo. The most interesting pieces are Lockheed P-38L, Douglas DC-6B and B-25J Mitchell. Interesting fact is, that all planes are airworthy and B-25 was a participant of NATO Days 2012 in Ostrava. The best ratio distance from Czech republic/museum remarkability has German couple Sinsheim-Speyer. These museums are around 30 km from each other and offers not only aeronautical masterpieces. The biggest drawers in Sinsheim are supersonic Concorde and Tu-144, which are accessible from inside. Apart from aircraft, there is big collection of veteran cars, formulas 1, sports cars and other technic. Speyer offers Boeing 747, space shuttle BURAN or submarine U9. Trip to Germany is ideal for the whole weekend. One of the world most famous air museum is in Duxford. Imperial War Museum offers big amount of not only aeronautical machines. We can mention stars from battle of Britain Spitfire and Hurricane, American Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress, B-52 Stratofortress and the piece de résistance SR-71 Blackbird.
